SMC RESET

You've lost it before. It came back. That isn't because you failed.

Weight regained after dieting is a physiological response — appetite hormones rise, resting energy use falls, and those changes can last for years. It is a mechanism problem, not a character problem.

SMC RESET is medically supervised weight management at Savannah Medical Clinic, led by Dr. Shomari Blake. Answer a few questions and we'll tell you what the first appointment would involve.

No weigh-in. No goal weight. Nothing to calculate.

Question 1

How it works

A programme built around the biology, not your willpower.

1

A proper assessment

A full history — including what happened in every previous attempt, because that history is clinical information, not a confession. Examination and any tests Dr. Blake thinks are appropriate.

2

A plan you had a say in

Nutrition and activity built around your actual life — shift work, family, budget, injuries. Where medical treatment is clinically appropriate, Dr. Blake discusses the options, benefits and side effects with you in person.

3

Review, and adjust

Regular check-ins so a plateau gets addressed rather than ending the attempt. Plans change over time — that is expected, and it is the point of being supervised.

SMC RESET is a medical service, not a product. We don't publish weight-loss figures or before-and-after photographs: results differ from person to person, and what is achievable for you is something to discuss with your doctor.

Frequently asked

The questions people actually ask.

I've lost weight before and put it back on. Why would this be different?

Because regaining is the expected outcome of dieting alone, not evidence that you did it wrong. After weight loss, appetite-regulating hormones shift and the body burns less energy at rest — and those changes can persist for years, long after the diet ends.

A supervised programme treats that as the clinical problem it is. That is the part willpower was never going to solve on its own.

What does the first appointment actually involve?

A consultation with Dr. Blake at the clinic. He takes a full history, discusses what happened in previous attempts, examines you and arranges any tests he thinks are appropriate, then talks through the options with you. Any measurements happen in the room, with a clinician, where they can be put in context.

What does it cost?

A standard consultation fee applies. Our team will confirm the exact cost when they call you, before anything is booked. Many patients have some element of cover through their health insurance, and reception can help you check what applies to you.

Will I have to be on treatment forever?

That's a question for your consultation rather than a web page — the honest answer depends on you. Weight is a long-term condition for many people, and plans get reviewed and changed over time. Dr. Blake will talk through what's appropriate for you, how long it's likely to be needed, and what the alternatives are.

What about side effects?

Every treatment has them, and you're entitled to hear about them before you decide anything. That conversation happens face to face with Dr. Blake, who will weigh them against your own history and any other conditions or medicines. Nothing is prescribed from a web form.

Do I need to weigh a certain amount to be seen?

No. There's no threshold you have to reach before you're allowed to ask for help — and you'll notice this page never asked your weight. That belongs in the consultation room.

Whatever it is you've stopped doing — let's start there.

Two minutes of questions, then a call from our team. No weigh-in, no judgement, no commitment.
